SQL Server Business Intelligence Virtual Conference
Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 03:25PM Want to learn (more) about SQL Server BI from a terrific roster of speakers, but can't get away for an out-of-town conference? Try the next best thing: SSWUG's BI Virtual Conference.
My friend and colleague Matthew Roche, along with the good folks at SSWUG has put together an outstanding lineup of sessions and speakers in their first ever Business Intelligence Virtual Conference, which will be held from September 24th to September 26th.
The conference is being held online, but it's not your traditional webcast. All sessions are recorded in advance and then streamed online during the conference, while the speakers (and other SMEs) are online in a conference chat room to answer attendee questions both during the sessions and in the post-session Q&A times, giving attendees the best of online events (no travel required, lower costs) and traditional "old school" conferences (world-class speakers, Q&A opportunities) in a single event.
As Matthew writes:
We have a great group of speakers including MCTs, MVPs, authors and Microsoft product group members lined up to deliver a great set of sessions during the event. The sessions are mostly at the 200-300 level, targeting people who are experienced with SQL Server and/or .NET development but who are new to BI.
Here's a short video (gasp, a commercial?) that describes the SSWUG virtual conference format.
Matthew provides more info on the speakers at his blog.In addition to the BI conference, there are three other virtual conferences being held over the next few months, so if you don't focus on BI, there is additional content that may be of interest to you.
If you're thinking of attending, register soon!
